Created in 1999, co-founded by Mustapha Terki and Jacques Primeau, the MEG Montreal is a pioneering event in terms of the diffusion and accompaniment of electronic music worldwide.
A pioneer, curious by nature and eager to discover new things, MEG gives pride of place to talented young shoots from here and elsewhere, still unknown to the general public, and takes pleasure in bringing them to light. Throughout its 22 years of existence, the festival, which has been a trendsetter for the next generation of electro, hip-hop and pop rock, has made it its mission to bring together a curious and open-minded audience of night owls, to proudly represent Canadian music and to build solid bridges with the United States and Europe. MEG was founded in 1999 by Mustapha Terki and Jacques Primeau with this in mind. Since then, the Montreal festival has become an international crossroads where urban music (Electro, pop rock, hip-hop…) converges, as evidenced by the non-exhaustive list of artists who passed through there when they were still in their infancy: Greenland (2012), Suuns (2014), Tiga (2005), Dead Obies (2013), Robert Robert (2016), M83 (2002), Le Tigre (2004), Justice (2005), Santigold and M.I.A. (2007). The 20th edition will take place from August 30 to September 2, 2018 in different locations in Montreal. The Meg Montreal festivla has joined the Multicolore group that organizes Piknic Eletronik, Iglofest and other international events in Montreal.
